The organization of Maria Laura Mouzinho Leite Lopes’ personal archive: challenges and perspectives

It demonstrates the organization of the personal archive of Maria Laura Mouzinho Leite Lopes, using the theory and methods of Archival Science. It seeks to understand the trajectory of personal archivesin the light of theory and methods within the scope of Archival Science. It presents the biography of Maria Laura Mouzinho Leite Lopes. Explains how the personal archive was donated to the Archive of the History of Science (AHC) of the Museu de Astronomia e Ciências Afins(MAST). It demonstrates that the methodological procedures adopted in the organization of the personal archive were guided by the maintenance of the inseparable link that exists between the documents and the functions and activities of the producer of the archive. Finally, it explains that the organization of the personal archive is in its final stage, having as a product the publication of the inventory as a finding aid.
