Abstract/Résumé/Resumen
This paper intends to analyze how Brazilian history from the second half of the 20th century was represented in the television serial fiction called "Séries brasileiras," at Rede Globo. My departure point is that Rede Globo is a powerful agent in the building of national identity, and that its productions reflect a particular approach of the redemocratization process, in course since 1985. To examine these issues, the present analysis aims to account for both the fictional narrative and the specific socio-historical context in which a set of six mini-series took place: Anos dourados, Anos rebeldes, Agosto, Incidente em Antares, Decadência e Hilda Furacão.
