O Arquivo Geral da Câmara de Vereadores de Santa Maria é responsável pela custódia de documentos que registram informações da evolução política e social do município, refletindo as relações entre governos, organizações civis e pessoas, sendo fonte de pesquisa e informação. Esta pesquisa consiste em identificar as atividades de Difusão Educativa realizada no arquivo e sua eficiência no que tange ao público escolhido, docentes do Ensino Fundamental das Escolas Municipais. Os elementos foram obtidos por meio de questionário aplicado junto ao responsável pelo Arquivo Geral, observação direta e pesquisa no site da Câmara, apurando as ações de Difusão Educativa já delineada pela instituição. Foram aplicados também questionários aos docentes, principalmente das áreas de História e Unidocência, do Ensino Fundamental do Município. Os resultados alcançados permitiram visualizar a situação atual da Difusão Educativa, as dificuldades, o conhecimento do arquivo e
sua utilização pelo público escolhido. Com isso, foi possível propor algumas sugestões ao arquivo, mostrar a relevância do acervo existente incentivando a sua utilização pelos docentes, bem como, uma reflexão sobre a importância da Difusão Educativa com ações complementares e de apoio à Educação Fundamental.
Educational diffusion program for the General Archive of the City Council of Santa Maria

The General Archive of the City Council of Santa Maria is responsible for safekeeping the documents that register the social and political evolution of the city, reflected em the relations among governments, civil organizations and people, being a rich source for research and information. This work summarizes the activities of Educational Diffusion realized by lhe archive and evaluates its efficiency for the target audience: teachers of the elementary education system of the city. The results were collected through a series of questions applied to the administration of the archive, direct observation and research is the Internet site of city’s council, searching for marketing actions already developed by the institution. At the same time, questions were also submitted to teachers from the primary education, especially lhe ones of History and teachers that work with all disciplines. The results allowed the visualization of the present situation of the Education Diffusion of the archive, the difficulties, the knowledge of its existence and its use by the target audience. With this, it was possible to propose suggestions to the archive administration, showing the relevance of the documents available there and promoting the use by teachers from the schools. A reflection about the importance of the Educational Diffusion of the archive with complementary actions and of support to primary education are also presented.
