FIRST THEORICAL INTRODUCTIONS OF ACTOR-NETWORK IN ARCHIVOLOGY
Abstract/Résumé/Resumen
In the archival space we are surrounded by nonhumans in a hybrid environment of objects/things, so an increasingly important issue is how we understand and work with the everyday objects/things around us, since we recognize that they occupy physically and socially share our lives. The purpose of this article is to outline a perspective on the ontology of objects from the Actor-Network Theory (ANT) inserted in the area of Archivology. It is, therefore, a theoretical essay that is part of a larger research that represents a critique of the anthropocentric view of the world and dialogues with the ANT, especially when the new post-humanist thought starts to incorporate nonhuman actors as essential elements for understanding of the social. To think a theory that observes the action of the human being on the object/thing, and that object/thing also acts on the human, impressing the same function, the same charge at the moment of action, seems quite opportune in current studies in Archivology. The ANT contributed in an attractive way in the mapping of the networks that articulate human and nonhuman in the archives, oxygenating in a very audacious way the archival researches, causing interesting insights for the studies of that area. In this perspective ideas of ANT in the archivology can help to open new notions, by which the archival do is realized, since this covers different forms, in different networks, and with different effects. In addition, it is one more possibility, how to construct a methodology that allows to apprehend andto observe the participation of humans and nonhumans in their contexts of performance.
