Este artigo mostra algumas possibilidades para pensar o passado do processo de metropolização no Brasil com foco no período de construção de estádios públicos pelo país. Estádios de dimensões “gigantescas” nas capitais estaduais ou de tamanho reduzido em cidades menores foram construídos com aportes de governos federal, estaduais e municipais em parceria com empreiteiras. Muitas dessas construções foram investigadas e esses processos encontram-se no acervo digital do Sistema de Informações do Arquivo Nacional (Sian).
Urbanization, football stadiums and civil-military dictatorship: research:possibilities in the Sian digital archives

This article shows some possibilities to think about the past of the metropolization process in Brazil, focusing on the period of the construction of public stadiums across the country. Stadiums of “gigantic” dimensions in the state capitals or stadiums of reduced size in smaller cities were built with contribu-tions from the federal government and the state and municipal governments in partnership with con-tractors. Many of these constructions were investi-gated and these processes are in the digital archives of the Sistema de Informações do Arquivo Nacional (Sian) [National Archives Information System].
