O artigo, de natureza historiográfica, busca sistematizar e analisar a produção acadêmica e institucional no âmbito da história dos arquivos e da arquivologia no Brasil. Toma como corpus um amplo conjunto de trabalhos produzidos, em grande parte, entre os anos de 2000 e 2020, e que indicam o crescente interesse da área no conhecimento da sua trajetória histórica. Localiza elementos que sinalizam possíveis referenciais teóricos, temas mais abordados, uma agenda de pesquisa e seus desafios relacionados, por exemplo, aos métodos e fontes.
A historiographic essay on the history of archives and archival science in Brasil: assessment and perspective

This historiographical article seeks to systematize and analyze the academic and institutional production in the field of the history of archives and archival science in Brazil. It chooses as corpus a wide range of works produced largely between the years 2000 and 2020, and that indicates the growing interest of the field in its own historical trajectory. It identifies elements that highlight possible theoretical systems of references, the most addressed themes, a research agenda and its related challenges, for example, to methods and sources.
