Preserving the documentary collection, recovering the cultural memory, disseminating the local history ‒ these are the objectives of Instituto Histórico da Câmara Municipal de Duque de Caxias, with emphasis on the historicity of the region where this city is located. Among its varied documentary items, there are sources of studies that have become a significant reference for many researchers who are dedicated to history, culture, patrimony, memory and the most diverse approaches to the region.
