A instituição arquivística, enquanto ambiente de mediação da informação e de mediação da cultura, deve contemplar a singularidade dos sujeitos que demandam ações que reflitam suas experiências e relações com a informação e seus dispositivos, além de buscar representar elementos de formação identitária desses sujeitos, para que os serviços arquivísticos possam lhes fazer sentido. Nessa conjuntura, o estudo teve como objetivo evidenciar, a partir das concepções da mediação da informação e da mediação cultural, o papel da instituição arquivística e de suas práticas no reconhecimento das identidades dos sujeitose na contribuição para o protagonismo social. Quanto à metodologia, trata-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica que se pauta nos estudos de identidade e memória estabelecendo uma relação de aproximação com os conceitos de mediação da informação e mediação cultural. Entre os resultados, observou-se a necessidade de o arquivista atuar para além dos documentos que estão nos acervos, considerando o processo de identificação dos diversos anseios dos usuários e presentes no contexto sociocultural. Reitera-se que o arquivista pode realizar suas ações de mediação da informação articuladas à mediação cultural, como ações inter-relacionadas para a promoção e construção do conhecimento, ressignificando o dispositivo arquivo em um dispositivo cultural, integrante da esfera social, acolhendo, incluindo e promovendo as diversas manifestações culturais presentes no meio ao qual o arquivo atende.
The archivistic institution and respect to the identities of social subjects

The archival institution, as an environment for mediation of information and mediation of culture, must contemplate the uniqueness of subjects who demand actions that reflect their experiences and relationships with information and their devices, in addition to seeking to represent elements of identity formation of these subjects, so that archival services can make sense to them. In this context, the study aimed to show, from the conceptions of information mediation and cultural mediation, the role of the archival institution and its practices in the recognition of the subjects' identities and in the contribution to social protagonism. As for the methodology, it is a bibliographic research that is guided by studies of identity and memory, establishing a close relationship with the concepts of information mediation and cultural mediation. Among the results, there was a need for the archivist to act beyond the documents that are in the collections, considering the process of identifying the different desires of users and present in the sociocultural context. It is reiterated that the archivist can carry out his actions of mediation of information linked to cultural mediation, as interrelated actions for the promotion and construction of knowledge, re-signifying the archive device in a cultural device, part of the social sphere, welcoming, including and promoting the diverse cultural manifestations present in the medium to which the archive serves.
