O Arquivo Geral da Nação iniciou, faz menos de uma década, um processo de mudança institucional que tem transformado a gestão arquivística na República Dominicana. A partir de 2008, o AGN converteu-se por lei em instituição diretora dos arquivos nacionais e vem empreendendo duas tarefas-chave: a formação arquivística e o desenvolvimento de programas culturais como meios para consolidar o Sistema Nacional de Arquivos.
The General Archive of the Dominican Republic: an institutional presentation

Less than a decade ago, the General Archive of the Nation began a process of institutional change that has been transforming archiving management in the Dominican Republic. From 2008, the AGN (Archivo General de la Nación) became the directing institution of the national archives by law, and has undertaken two key tasks: archiving training and developing cultural programmes as a means to consolidate the National Archives System.
