O Conselho Internacional de Arquivos está elaborando o novo padrão de descrição arquivística, Records in Contexts (RiC), para satisfazer e contemplar a realidade atual dos arquivos, com ênfase na temática dos documentos digitais. Este trabalho estuda os possíveis impactos para os usuários de arquivo, sejam eles pessoas ou sistemas de informação, acarretados pela substituição dos padrões atuais de descrição arquivística pelo RiC.
The International Archives Council is developing the new archival description standard, Records in Contexts (RiC), to meet the current reality of archives, paying particular attention to digital documents. The present work studies the possible impacts to archives users, either people or information systems, caused by the replacement of the current archival description standards by the RiC.
