Este artigo é um relato da organização por que vem passando os documentos históricos do Arquivo Geral do Poder Judiciário do Estado do Amazonas. Trata-se do projeto “Documentos históricos do Judiciário amazonense: diagnóstico de acervo e organização do arquivo permanente do Poder Judiciário do Estado do Amazonas” (PGCT-FAPEAM), incumbido da tarefa de organizar um acervo de cerca de 15 mil processos. Destacamos o histórico da constituição do acervo, o processo de construção de um vocabulário controlado e as perspectivas de revisão historiográfica que podem resultar de pesquisas futuras com sua documentação.
This article concerns the ongoing organization of historical documents from the Arquivo Geral do Poder Judiciário do Estado do Amazonas (General Archives of the Amazonas Court of Justice). It focuses on the project titled "Historical documents of the Amazonian judiciary: collection's diagnostic of the Permanent Archives of the Amazonas State Court of Justice" (PGCT-FAPEAM), which aims to arrange all holdings, comprising 15,000 legal files. We emphasize the history of the records, the process of developing specific vocabulary, and the potential historiographical insights that may arise from future research on these records.
