A viabilidade de instrumentos e de meios que facilitem a intermediação e a democratização informacional tornou-se uma temática recorrente para quem refleteas atribuições dos profissionais arquivista, intermediadordas informações de cunho arquivístico. Avertente da atividade laboral do arquivistacondizdiretamente com ainformação pública, e os direcionamentos éticos e legais que regem tal esfera. A Lei de Acesso à Informação(LAI)é o aparato legal de destaque nesta pesquisa, devido aograu de importância nas relações de democratização da informação. Em contra-ponto fez-seum paralelo entre a LAI e os preceitos éticos da profissão do arquivista: o Código de Ética para Arquivistas do Conselho Internacional de Arquivos (CIA) e os Princípios Éticos do Arquivistada Associação dos Arquivistas Brasileiros. A pesquisa objetivacompreender as atribuições do profissional arquivista na perspectiva da responsabilidade ética e social anteriores e após a publicação da LAI. Metodologicamente caracteriza-se comoexploratória por que explora múltiplas fontes de informações que respaldama fundamentação teórica. E bibliográfica, porquanto explica o problema por meio de teorias publicadas em livros, artigos, anais de eventos, dentre outros, originários do código e dos princípios deontológicos, que fundamentam a análise e o aprofundamento da problemática central da pesquisa. Constatam-se inúmeras mudanças na realidade laboral do profissional arquivista, desde questões básicas profissionais, como ascorrelacionadas ao campo direto de atuação. Através da análisedos resultados apresentam-senovas atribuições do profissional arquivista, advindos das demandas da LAI esugere-seuma reavaliação dos aparatos legais arquivísticos, adequando-os às novas demandas da LAI.
INFORMATION ACCESS LAW: ethical and social conduct under the eyes of the professional assignments of the archivist

The feasibility of instruments and means that facilitates mediation and information democratization has become a recurring theme for those who reflect the assignments of the archivist professionals, the intermediary of archival information. The branch of the archivist's work is directly related to the public information, and the ethical and legal directives that govern that sphere. The Information Access Law (LAI) is the legal apparatus of prominence in this research, due to the degree of importance in the democratization relations of information. On the other hand, a parallel was made between LAI and the ethical precepts of the archivist's profession: The Code of Ethics for Archivists of the International Council on Archives (CIA) and the Archivist’s Ethical Principles of the Association of Brazilian Archivists. The objective of the research is to understand the archivist professional assignments in the perspective of social and ethic responsibility before and after the publication of the LAI. In methodological terms The research is characterized as exploratory because it explores multiple sources of information that support the theoretical foundation. And bibliographical, because it explains the problem through theories published in books, articles, annals of events, among others, originating from the code and the deontological principles, that base the analysis and the deepening of the central problematic of the research. There are numerous changes in the professional reality of the archivist, from basic professional questions, such as those correlated to the direct field of action. Through the analysis of the results, new assignments of the archivist, arising from the demands of the LAI, are presented and a reassessment of the archival legal devices is suggested, adapting them to the new demands of LAI.
