La preservación y mantenimiento de las colecciones constituyen elementos fundamentales de la política de los archivos, bibliotecas y museos. Su punto de partida es la evaluación del estado de conservación de los acervos y el diagnóstico de los principales problemas que presentan, los que deberán ser realizados antes de elaborar el plan de conservación preventiva. En el presente trabajo se reportan algunos resultados obtenidos en los estudios del diagnóstico del estado de conservación de los acervos atesorados por la Fundación Casa de Rui Barbosa y de los estudios realizados sobre las condiciones climatológicas del edificio que las alberga, con vistas a determinar las principales causas de deterioro de las mismas. Al mismo se proponen algunas medidas a tomar para la ralentización del deterioro de las mismas.
The Evaluation of the conservation conditions of the collections of Casa de Rui Barbosa Foundation

The preservation and maintenance of the collections constitute a fundamental element of the politics of the archives, libraries and museums. The starting point is the evaluation of the state of conservation of the wealth and the diagnosis of the main problems that present, those that will be carried out before the elaboration of the preventive conservation plan. In the present work are reported some results obtained in the studies of the diagnosis of the conservation state of the wealth stored by the Fundación Casa de Rui Barbosa and of the studies carried out about the climatological conditions of the building where it harbors are storages, with the purpose of determining the main causes of its deterioration. It is also propose some measures for the diminution rates of the deterioration processes.
