Este artigo objetiva refletir sobre a formação do arquivista no Brasil como contribuição à demarcação da sua identidade profissional. Subsidiado pelas teorias curriculares, visa colaborar com os debates curriculares atuais. Investiga a criação de cursos entre os anos 1910 e 1970 e conclui que o estudo das origens evidencia a relação entre contexto social e currículo, demarcando a identidade profissional do arquivista.
This paper aims to reflect on the formation of archivists in Brazil as a contribution to the demarcation of their professional identity. Supported by curriculum theories, it intends to collaborate with current curricular debates. It investigates the creation of courses between the years 1910 and 1970 and concludes that the study of their origins shows the relationship between the social context and curriculum, demarcating the archivists' professional identity.
