Associativismo é o movimento dos trabalhadores que se reúnem em associações representativas, que podem ser associações profissionais, conselhos ou sindicatos, com o objetivo de defender seus interesses. Além de apresentar as principais características de cada uma dessas entidades de classe, longe de esgotar o tema, este artigo tem como objetivo recuperar as origens do Núcleo Regional de São Paulo da Associação dos Arquivistas Brasileiros, antecessora da Associação de Arquivistas de São Paulo, que trazem em comum a figura de Ana Maria de Almeida Camargo, tanto na fundação quanto na elaboração do estatuto das duas entidades.
Associativismis the movement of workers who come together in representative associations, which can be professional associations, councils, or unions, with the aim of defending their interests. This article aims to outline the main characteristics of each of these professional entities, without exhausting the topic, and to trace the origins of the São Paulo Regional Branch of the Brazilian Archivists Association, predecessor of the São Paulo Archivists Association. These origins share the common figure of Ana Maria de Almeida Camargo, both in the founding and in the drafting of the statutes of the two entities.
