O artigo busca refletir sobre a história custodial da coleção Ferreira Rodrigues e da coleção Varela, analisando as interferências sofridas e os mecanismos de difusão utilizados pelo Arquivo Histórico do Rio Grande do Sul, para pensar a memória da Revolução e da República Rio-Grandense (1836-1845), assim como os caminhos da memória e da historiografia sobre o Rio Grande do Sul.
The aim is to reflect on the custodial history of the Ferreira Rodrigues collection and Varela collection, analyzing the interference suffered and diffusion mechanisms used by the Arquivo Histórico do Rio Grande do Sul, to think of the memory of the Revolution and the Rio-Grandense Republic (1836-1845), as well as the paths of memory and historiography related to Rio Grande do Sul.
