Este artigo apresenta como algumas correntes do pensamento arquivístico contemporâneo entendem e tratam a questão da preservação nos tempos atuais. Para isso foram escolhidos 13 textos de 11 autores de diferentes escolas e nacionalidades, tidos como de produção relevante na área. Realizou-se uma análise crítica sobre a forma e o conteúdo com que os autores tratam da preservação de acervos, de documentos e de informação nos textos escolhidos. Foram observadas as posições técnicas, científicas e políticas expostas pelos autores, e comparados os enfoques, conceitos e os entendimentos sobre a questão da preservação.
This article displays how some contemporary currents of the Archival Science understand and treat the subject of the preservation in the current times. For that, there were chosen 13 texts of all relevant authors of different schools and nationalities. It was made a critical analysis on the form and in the content of each article to understand how the manner that the authors treat the preservation of collections, documents, and information in their own texts. Technical, scientific, and political positions were observed if and when exposed by the authors, in the way to establish a comparison among the focuses, concepts, and the understandings on the subject of the preservation.
