Digital technologies present new questions when one intends to in vestigate the previus technologies used in images and data processing. In this paper, it is seeken to understand the analogical systems of organization of visual information - specially the case of the identification portrait - on account of the emergence of the dactyloscopic technique. Oid and new techniques are analysed, as well as how they articulate with different visions of nature and of humaneness.
