Abstract/Résumé/Resumen
The papers presented by Helena Corrêa Machado and Clairê de Souza Pires to the Seminar of Contemporary Archivology: a Debate, promoted by the Associação dos Arquivistas Brasileiros to celebrate its 10th anniversary (meeting held on October 21st, 1981, bearing on the evaluation of documents), are criticized and commented upon. The presence of the historian as a permanent member of the evaluating committees is suggested, together with better attention to private archives and to chronological sections set as divisions for the evaluation work.
