Abstract/Résumé/Resumen
This article intends to discuss the relationship between the citizen and public documentation, specifically in the National Archives based on the experience and performance of the Consultation Room. This relationship is approached in three intercommunicated leveis: the possibility of proving the citizen rights and, doing so, to ransom the citizenship; the citizen mernory - social. collective, recognlzing and having consciousness of itself - and the discourse of the individual as historical class, present in the documental sources and that enlarges this concept, contributing critically to the rescue of the mermory.
